Teaching with Technology Spring 2019

Teaching Role, Spring 2019 Course: How Science Works (Biology 125)

As a guest lecturer for Biology 125, How Science Works, I was responsible for editing course content to improve accessibility and integrate technology into the curriculum, implementing new lecture materials and exercises in the classroom, and performing assessment of the technology implementations. I conducted work in and outside of the classroom, working with students during guest lectures and working alone and with the course instructor on editing content. My major duties were re-configuring lecture slides for compatibility with PDF reader, using clicker technology to gauge student learning outcomes, and reformatting multiple-choice quizzes to fit best practices for assessment. In order to provide opportunities for student feedback about the edited course modules, I gathered qualitative and quantitative survey data in formal and informal settings.
